Soffit and Wood Repair

Florida weather wrecks havoc for exposed wood trim. Home owners should regularly walk around the perimeter of your home to identify damaged soffits and fascia.  Look at the underside of your roof overhang. Look for any signs of rot, discoloration, or water stains on the soffit panels. Additionally, check the edges of the fascia boards for peeling paint or cracks. Addressing these issues promptly helps prevent further deterioration and potential structural problems in your home.

Other things to check for:

  • Paint on the soffit and fascia that is chipped, cracked, or flaking,  which could mean more deep-rooted damage.
  • Mold or rotting wood may appear as dark patches or discoloration on the surface, while rotting wood can be identified by its softness or crumbling texture.
  • Animal or pest infestation such as gnawing or nesting materials means you may have uninvited guests in your attic.

The fascia and soffit is a barrier between the edge of the roof and the outside environment. Ignoring these needed repairs could lead to more expensive problems in the future.
